Vertical CNC processing center for efficient grinding, drilling, and milling of glass

Biesse Intermac Multi Up M V0X is a vertical CNC processing center developed for efficient and precise processing of flat glass – directly from the cutting table and onwards to the finished component. The machine combines grinding, milling, and drilling into one fully automatic process, and is especially suitable for the production of doors, facade elements, railings, furniture glass, and technical glass.

The vertical machine concept provides a small footprint, easy access, and high ergonomics, while keeping the glass stable throughout the processing. Multi Up M V0X also handles shaped and non-right-angled glass, provided one straight side against the roller feed, which offers great flexibility in production.

The machine is equipped with Smart Shuttles – a dynamic system for automatic positioning and repositioning of suction cups. Each suction cup is activated individually, and the glass is continuously held during processing. This enables processing of unstable, thin, and lightweight glass that traditional vertical machines often struggle with, while vibrations are reduced and surface quality is improved.

Multi Up M V0X supports pendulum processing, allowing loading and unloading of glass while the machine is working. The result is 100% utilization of machine time and high throughput in series production. Two drilling heads can work simultaneously for precise hole drilling, while grinding and edge processing are performed quickly and controlled with minimal glass removal.

The machine's robust one-block chassis provides high structural stability and reduces vibrations, even during demanding processing. This contributes to consistent quality, long lifespan, and simplified installation and maintenance. Advanced CNC control and intuitive HMI give the operator full control, while integrated software functions guide the user from idea to finished product in a few intuitive steps.

Safety is ensured through LaserScanner protection in both loading area and internal zones. The system stops the machine immediately upon unauthorized access and meets the requirements of EN ISO 13849-1, ensuring safe operation even in automated production environments.
